Scott Gundersen ‘s line of work is not what one would call “common”. The designer and visual artist currently living in Chicago creates stunning portraits with the help of thousands of cork bottle stoppers. His intricate creations start off with a large scale photo, which Scott slowly fills up with corks. Each bottle stopper has its own, well chosen spot, in order to make the overall portrait as realistic as possible. The video at the end of the post is a film shot during the creation of  “Grace”, a  66” x 96” portrait which took no less than  9,217 wine corks and 50 hours to build up. We find the overall result remarkable, not to mention highly original.

They started out as a single store in 1949 in Lower Manhattan, but Pottery Barn has always retained its comfy, rustic-yet-refined style, even after it has branched out with more locations. We love their sets of wood and wicker outdoor pieces below. These are anything but pretentious – they are aware of the environments around them, and have been designed to accommodate their surroundings and the people that use them, while not sacrificing style. source

They had the right idea, as green is thought to attract prosperity and reflect tranquility and balance in the people who use it. Applied generously in fashion, automobiles, home appliances and home decor, it was the outdated color that newer generations have always loathed the sight of- until now! Today green is back as the new ‘white’ and these amazing designers have created some dynamite renderings (yes, they’re all 3D!) of incredible bedrooms that depict our modern lifestyle today, using that same green color in a totally new way. Now the trend setters of the world are restoring green into the bedroom for its artistic value with new hues and color schemes, simplified patterns, and calming textures. The photos below will show you exactly what we mean. Serene monochromatic bedroom is visualized by Jeremy Sikorski A green bedroom with a grand skylight. These natural swimming pools seem to have been created as dream pools before we even got the chance to imagine it for ourselves. The first pool, with its softly sinuous descending path adorned with natural stone, leaves the impression of a carefully designed combination of traditional materials on one end and sleek, modern design on the other. Created by Clear Water Revival, these custom-made swimming ponds infuse your garden with luxuriant plants and modern pool design. To get an idea on how the pools are built, the Bristol Pool seems to be a great example.
