Paddles & Paws

Image
Hitting up Tybee Island, Georgia has been on my to-do list ever since I learned of the one and only Jane Coslick . There's just something about every one of her designs....so colorful and friendly, where you can kick-back and relax the day away. I just get the sense the whole island is like that. This cottage is Jane's most recent undertaking, she shared a peek on her blog . Isn't it delightful?! Luckily for us, it will be available to rent by late spring through Mermaid Cottages . Sign me up!! And stop the presses: Did you guys know Jane has an online shop ?! Be still my heart!! We're now officially down to two weeks!! Some of my Facebook fans got a little peek yesterday into my DIY wedding decorations. I might just keep adding fun stuff on there, so follow along if you're interested! Have a wonderful weekend you guys!! :)

Welcome, Sweet Springtime!

Image
Spring is in the air! And if not outside your windows, definitely in that first delightful image above. (The cute kitty called for top placement!) Photographed by Peter Carlsson and featured in Hus & Hem , this century-old Swedish home is light and bright, just what I love. The sunny porch is such a great space...what a pretty place to keep your things or enjoy a cup of tea! Tour the rest of the home here !

Adore and amp; Elsa Soyars

Image
This beach house designed by the talented Elsa Soyars and featured in the latest Adore Home has been floating around the blogosphere, but if it doesn't scream House of Turquoise, I don't know what does! I was so happy to see more of the fabulous home in Elsa's portfolio. I've been a big fan of hers for a while now (see my post here). It's just the way she does beachy chic is so up my alley! I just can't get enough of the neutral colors brought to life with the cheery turquoise. Did you see that kitchen?! I need to wipe the drool off my keyboard here. Seriously...is there a Hamptons home that I don't like?! Enjoy your weekend everyone!! I don't know about you, but I need to get some serious shopping done!

Tim Clarke

Image
Interior designer Tim Clarke out of Santa Monica, California is known for taking classic motifs and interpreting them in a fresh way. I adore his modern beach home style...free and light, nautical without being kitschy. Tim's retail store in Santa Monica, Tower 20 Store, reflects his coastal modern aesthetic so even us land-locked (and freezing cold) folks can infuse our homes with sophisticated, beachy style. See more of his work over at Coastal Living, and his website ! Thanks you guys for all your sweet birthday comments for my dad yesterday!! He got such a kick out of reading them! :)

Hamilton Design Associates

Image
When I saw a tasty post filled with bold pattern and vibrant color on Gorgeous Shiny Things, I wasn't at all surprised to learn they were designed by Ellen Hamilton of Hamilton Design Associates . (She was, after all, the mastermind behind this marvelous bedroom.) Her portfolio is full of bold, colorful design, but also these dreamy seaside escapes too. That kitchen!!! Oh my word. Excuse me while I stare off into these images....it's snowing here....again. Ugh!!!

Campagne Décoration

Image
Ladies, your tea is ready!! I thought since you guys loved that French home so much that I shared a couple ago, you might appreciate this one too. Gracing the cover of this month's Campagne Décoration (Country Decoration), the darling space is made for delectable treats, pleasant conversation and a little bit of sunshine. What a magnifique way to spend an afternoon!

A Lovely Porch

Image
Check out this inspiring and amazing porch by Nicole Balch of Making it Lovely , who painted and redecorated this porch with her husband nine months pregnant ! Proves you really can do anything. I thought I was working hard painting my wicker furniture for my front porch, but wow. Pictures are from Apartmenttherapy.com and Making It Lovely . I love the idea of painting the porch floor with a pattern and bringing the outside in with a "rug". I think she did a great job. As soon as my front porch furniture is finished and arranged I'll upload my pictures too!

HGTV Green Home 2009

Image
These rooms from the HGTV Green Home 2009 truly are an oasis of calm. Interior designer Linda Woodrum was inspired by the Florida coast and how beautiful the water was. “It’s the ultimate spa retreat. The colors are directly related to the glorious water of the local beaches and this suite really takes you away. It feels peaceful and relaxed but definitely sophisticated in a wonderfully casual way.” I'd agree that is precisely what is does! What a DREAM Green home!! Check out HGTV for tons more glorious images of this home, including virtual tours and all the info you'd ever need on each room. I wish you all the joys of spring this Easter weekend! :)

Beside the Point

Image
I know I just got home from vacation, but after seeing images in Coastal Living of the seaside rental cottage "Beside the Point" in Harbour Island, I immediately wanted to pack my bags again and head to the Bahamas (who am I kidding though, I haven't unpacked yet...!). I did a little search to find more images...this coastal cottage is way too cute! (Images via Coastal Living , John McCardy Architect and Island Real Estate ).
