The weather has been fantastic today and we finally found time to go out for a walk to Morte Point. The summer has been so hectic and the weather so rotten that this is the first time we've gone for a walk since returning from our holiday on Lundy 8 weeks ago! Yesterday we were watching ' Countryfile ' on tv and they had an item about rambling on the North Devon coast which featured Morte Point. So often I've seen film of beautiful coastline and thought how wonderful it would be to visit those areas and here was our very own walking spot. There were 5 seals down in the water at their usual place. (Zoom in to see one between the outermost 2 rock outcrops.) A little less exciting after my Lundy seal encounter. There were a number of these large parasol mushrooms about. It wasn't until I checked them out in my wildlife book at home that I discovered they are 'edible and tasty'. If we don't wait another 8 weeks before going for another walk perhaps w

Isn't paint wonderful?  Such a difference it can make.  We started out with flat brown walls with spots of paint ideas.  We contemplated grey, what a difficult colour.  Grey sometimes looks blue and lavender.  We finally settled on a creamy white.  High Gloss.  I know, many people cringe and say it will show all the imperfections.  What they don't tell you is it makes lamp light glooowww, candles are brighter and chandeliers sing. with my $5.00 dresser We are still in the process of getting it together.  Today I will begin painting the brown cabinet.    In the kitchen there is a wall that is open and after painting it needed something on it.  At homesense I found this ugly piece,  UGH, never seen such a horrid combination of colours on such a pretty piece.  I painted it with a mix of colours, mostly a light grey and the result is beautiful. This piece works well to distract from the electrical plug in and the phone etc.  Not bad for an ugly piece.  Getting it all together is st

over the weekend billy and i headed over to historic grant park to the 8th annual summer shade festival .  it was a gorgeous day and we were loving the slightly cooler weather.  the highlight of my day was getting to see the booth belonging to the local art company “go jump in the lake.”  i’ve used their rustic signs in the past and have always loved them.  most recently i used one of their “lake” signs in a model home’s nursery. {images – charm home} all of their signs are hand crafted and made to look like they’ve been exposed to the elements for years.  their signs with quotes on them are my fave.           i loved the wall of local atlanta neighborhood signs too.  it really reminded me how many great historic neighborhoods atlanta has. if you get a chance check out their website or purchase a sign from their etsy shop .
